Time of past OR future Camino
Past
Just returned home after five wonderful (and occasionally tough) weeks on the camino. Now tending to my neglected garden, I came to think how wonderful it would be to share reminiscences with others who have been on the camino.

This led me to think that I would be happy to accommodate 'camino' persons in my home (in the Copenhagen area). I think that those who have been on the camino – however different, differing in views and ages – may have a common denominator. I have consistently met wonderful, thoughtful and considerate persons on my camino (and in this forum) – and I would like to pay back in some way.

Just a thought – and a question of whether others have had the same thought? Could there be a thread about offering home-stays in your country (where the credentials would, of course, be that the person requesting accomodation have walked/walked on the camino?)

Interesting idea, Annelise. A sort of Camino Couch-surf.
Is there a Santiago Pilgrims confraternity or group in your area? Maybe they could advise.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Volunteers here already opened their house for long distant pilgrims passing through Belgium. Parents of one of my friends have a room available. Most pilgrims that stay a night there are from German or Holland. They can be contacted though the confraternity.

If anyone ever finds themselves in Portland, OR, USA I would be happy to host a fellow pilgrim from the Camino. Just PM me.

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
Did you meet Bjørn Krohn? Died aged 48 in an albergue, I don't know where, tuesday 21th. I didn't know this until now.
Seems to be a lot of people posting about stuff they lost on the Camino recently. I managed to leave a nice new-ish polo shirt somewhere drying and didn't notice for over a week. I hope someone...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
