I have just seen the following notification of a new albergue to be opened sometime next month (July 2022) in Magueija along the Portuguese Interior route:
"The CPSI informs its pilgrims and friends, of another good news, for those who travel the Portuguese Camino de Santiago Inner.
The Município de Lamego is adapting the old Magueijinha School, in the parish of Magueija, to Albergue dos Caminhos de Santiago.
This hostel, with a location adjacent to the Camino, is expected to be completed as early as next month and will have all the amenities to receive pilgrims.
The offer of another accommodation space of the Albergue type, allows not only to expand the capacity to host pilgrims in this council, but also to improve the management of the stages, allowing the pilgrims and friends of the CPSI, adjust the extension and, therefore, the effort."

I saw this today as well. Be advised that it’s not in Lamego itself, which still lacks an albergue, but in the village of Magueija (as noted above). Magueija is about 6km past Bigorne and about 11.5km before Lamego.

New albergues are always good news so I hope pilgrims make use of this one. The problem, stage-wise, is that Lamego is such an obvious place to stay, because it has a lot to offer in terms of attractions and it’s the perfect ‘launch pad’ for the Douro Valley the next day.

The Gronze stages in this area (and what we did) are Ribolhos-Bigorne (20km) and Bigorne-Lamego (17.5km). Since there is no albergue in Bigorne, alternative stages could be Ribolhos-Magueija (26km) and Magueija-Lamego (11.5km), which is not as well balanced but adds an albergue.

Correcting a mistake in my previous post: as noted in the OP, the albergue is actually in Magueijinha, 1km further than Magueija. So it’s about 7km past Bigorne and 10.5km before Lamego.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
