Jenny and Lynda, I'll be a couple of weeks ahead of you on my first Camino (Frances). I'm writing from Sydney so I can already pick the difference between Aussie and Kiwi - we lived in Wellington for a while in the mid-seventies, but a few decades of additional study has enabled us to actually understand the Kiwi language. I've just reread that and I'm sorry if it sounded a bit snarky. I was trying to be funny but there have been probably a few million too many jokes about the Aussie/Kiwi thing in all its permutations. One of my sons was born in New Zealand and we toured the whole country twice. Had a lovely time. Buen Camino
Thank you Peter. I realise that my post was a bit short. I thought I was just putting us in the calendar. We are both very excited and are loving reading the forum and getting great ideas. I feel like I have walked the whole camino already. As it is summer in NZ, we are having lots of long days and great weather to do our training. We are tackling really challenging terrains with our full packs so should be well prepared for the first couple of days. We are actually going to stop at Orrison for the evening as we will still be jet lagged from our long trip from down under. The anticipation is killing me.Hi Lynda and welcome to this wonderful forum. Wish you a great experience and a Buen Camino, Peter.
