Pilgrims in Portland OR?

I am planning to walk the Camino with my 22 year old son in August of 2013! I live in Santa Barbara, he lives in Portland. I will be visiting him next month (June 10-16) staying at the International Hostel, and would love to visit with someone who has made the trip before us.

I live in the Portland area, and I am planning to walk the Camino in 2013, too. I haven't walked before, so I can't offer any advice. Perhaps if you get responses we could all meet up. I'd love my 22 year old son to join me on the Camino, but I'm not sure he will be able to because of work and school. How wonderful that your son and you will make this trip together!

There is now a Portland chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino. We meet every third Sunday, at 2:00, on the Eastbank Esplanade at the foot of SE Salmon Street, for a walk along the river followed by a beverage at the Lucky Labrador Brewpub (Hawthorn Street). All are welcome, no membership required. Other quarterly activities are also being planned. Come join us.
