Pilgrims with Insulin Dependent Diabetes

Time of past OR future Camino
5 September to 10 October (2013)
My diabetes is well controlled, I use an insulin pump and continuous glucose sensor, and I have no medical complications. My biggest concern is how to carry all my pump supplies & "emergency" food/drink with me. Soon I will "practice" a walk of 5-10 miles with my backpack loaded with what I think I will need. My camino will probaby happen in 2014. Any suggestions from pilgrims with medical issues?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Doing many practice walks complete with kit is a great idea. It is never too soon to test your gear and to strengthen your body for the long walk ahead.

Happy planning and training,

Maureen,
I'm planning for around the first or second week of May 2014 from StJPP. If you are concerned about the weight of your medicinal needs - no problem, I will happily take the load for you.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
