I've got a rest day in Burgos. Does anyone have recommendation for a good, reasonable restaurant in Burgos. It's time for something different from the usual Camino fare!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Burgos is quite famous for suckling lamb. We had a rather pricy but good one quite close to the cathedral, but i guess the farther you get away from the center the more bang for your buck. Best to do this with a few people.

edit: google for "Lechazo"

I've never eaten well in Burgos, except for some ad hoc pickings from food shops, so good luck -- though without any sit-down eating, things did seem more sensible south of the river, where I've come across a few interesting looking places -- every time closed or otherwise impracticable.

These two places were good during my past caminos and still get great reviews.

The Casa Ojeda, Calle Vitoria, 5, has existed since 1912 and is very good for a special meal. Here is their web.

Another simpler place I always enjoyed is the Cafe Viana at Calle Farmacéutico Obdulio Fernández, 36, Here is their web

Hotel Azofra for the lamb!
Not cheap, but memorable.

You need to book....

have eaten there twice both at lunch because Spanish dinner is too late for us. Just ate there last week and once in 2018.

Thanks to everyone. I went to Ojeda for Sunday afternoon dinner today. What a treat. Great meal, service, and atmosphere. Varied menu. I stayed with Castilian favorites: baby lamb leg and sops castelllana which I haven't had for years. Reasonable for what it was. Tapas at the bar were good too. I never would have found it without your help
