Gite Bidean.......warm welcome, superb grub, lots of walking advice, and I also enjoyed the bats !
Lovely start to the journey, August 31.
Highly recommended. Cheers John.

Gîte la Porte de Saint Jacques, just two doors down from the municipal. Great atmosphere, spacious dorms, meditation room, lots of knowledge of the camino our of their own experience. Very personal, great breakfast, special and beautiful morning pilgrims ceremony (short of course) to send you on your way.

I second @Karin309’s Gite la Porte de Saint Jacques recommendation. So glad I started there. Good location, great view off the deck, good breakfast and great advice, and I loved their morning ceremony for all who were starting out.

Yes! I've stayed at Bellari on both of my Camino Frances walks. Lovely hosts, wonderful meal & pilgrim sharing. All the support one might need - practical, emotional, or spiritual. Plus great showers & outdoor patio ❤️

Thank you all for the advice. I have tried to connect with Bellari have not yet been successful. I’ll keep trying as it sounds like a great place to start.

Have you looked at their website? Don't know if they're closed for the winter. I've always used email to communicate with them.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I stayed at Belari and was grateful that I did. The hosts are kind, supportive and filled with love and joy for pilgrims. Wherever you decide to stay your first night, I highly recommend choosing a place that has a communal dinner and breakfast. You will learn a lot from your fellow pilgrims.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thank you, that is what I am now planning to do
