Hi,
We a going on our first walk at the end of next April, Sarria to Santiago. Watched lots of videos and even though there is amazing information out there I do have specific things I'm wondering about.
1. I know you can't predict weather, but can it be cold in the mornings evenings at the end of April?
2. We are having our main bag brought between locations. But for the walk, is 30l a good size to bring different things, or would people recommend smaller like 20l?
Thanks
Phil

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Welcome to the forum! To answer your questions...

1. Yes, it can be cold, although everyone's definition of "cold" can vary. I would have to look at weather records to see exactly what temperatures are likely or common. My guess is that it could have a similar range to what you might have in Ireland.

2. My main bag (my only bag) is 31L, in which I carry everything I need on the Camino, including sleeping bag. If I wanted some weight transported on a particular stage, I would put those items in another bag and would carry my main backpack while walking. What is most important is that your back pack - even for a few kg - be comfortable. I would still recommend that it have both sternum strap and hip belt, because you will likely have as much as 3 or 4 kg with rain gear, extra socks and layer, water, snacks, and first aid items. Whether it is 30 L or 20 L capacity is not important, if it is comfortable and the weight is something you can manage.

I'm just reading through @mspath wonderful Camino memories on her blogspot site that I happily stumbled upon from this forum. Anyway, during 2011 there is mentioned a simple Albergue at the site...
