Storing luggage in Madrid or Santiago prior to Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Ingles walked in early June 2015.
We're sneaking in 6 days on the Camino Ingles after a work trip to Madrid. We'll have business attire that we want to store for a week while we're on the Camino. Does anyone know who might securely store our luggage for a week? We don't want to lug around more suitcases than necessary, especially if we're flying one of the cheap airlines that limit baggage size. Ideally, we could store it at the Madrid airport on our way to Santiago and pick it up in Madrid on our way back to the US but we heard that there is no longer paid storage provided at airports. Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Since you are staying in Madrid prior to leaving for your camino you might ask your Madrid hotel to store your bags. Another alternative is to store the bags in Santiago using the services of Ivar Rekve, the administrator of this Forum. Click here for more on Ivar's storage service.

Buen camino!

According to their website, the service is still offered in Barcelona so you might want to check the Madrid airport website. If it's anything like BCN, get ready for sticker shock. 6 euros a bag for the first 2 hours, then 10 euros a day per piece. Whew!

It is cheaper in train stations, as Atocha (5.20 per day), see here
The "consignas", as they are called, are well organized by RENFE.
I was told it is even cheaper in bus terminals, as Mendez Alvaro, but I don't know about exact prices and safety.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you everyone for all the helpful information! You did my homework for me. I have lots of options.
I appreciate it!

Last year, being a rookie walker, I packed more than I could carry comfortably. As a result, I ended up shipping some of my stuff to Santiago de Compostela post office from Leon. I claimed my package after about three weeks, and I really liked the service. I just wonder if anyone knows how long the post office will hold on to the package. I am thinking about using the same service this year but much longer period like 45 days, if possible. I do not speak Spanish fluent enough to ask Spanish Post. Does anyone know if this is possible?
