I'm clueless. Looking for suggestions for 30-40 day trip on: routes, guides, travel agencies (?), albergues, books, travel plans to get to Europe, etc.

Thank you.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Falco269 gives you excellent advice; SJPP to Santiago, then 4 more days to Land's End (Fisterra), that is all I can add. Enjoy!!! And Tim Robbins' book is GREAT

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Traveling from the US.
Hola Poonboo,
Sorry, can't help you much with airlines from the US, thought I'd ask in case you were travelling from my part of the world (down under).
As mentioned, you don't need a travel agent for the camino side of things, you just book as you go, or walk and find accommodation when you arrive, if you prefer, as mentioned by Falcon & others.
If you prefer to book as you go, and stay in double rooms, a mobile phone is a good idea, particularly for the smaller accommodation along the way.
Happy planning.
Buen Camino

Perfect way to make or break a relationship!
Ha, ha, Just kidding.

Your plans will fit well for the Camino Frances, I think. But there are many things to take into consideration. What made you think about doing a Camino to celebrate your anniversary (congratulations, by the way)?
