Forever Pilgrim
Time of past OR future Camino
2009-2022: CFx6, CP, VdlPx2, Mozarabe, more later.
Am considering this one this year: Will bring with me a hair dryer, a wine cellar, beer cooler, 7 boxer shorts, 14 pairs of socks, extra shampoo, food for 30+ days, etc... Solving all weight problems in one blow:

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Asked my buddy what he humped as a US Army Ranger---80 Pounds and not one ounce had anything to do with his comfort. Since there are "Chinese Stores" available why does anyone bother carrying a pack? Seriously considering just Duct taping an empty Five Gallon Plastic Paint Bucket to a pack frame---- believe that is what the original pilgrims carried.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Alex, didn´t I just read that you bought a 58 gr. towel ? Wasted money !

How about 40 litres of water and you can share with other pilgrims saving each of them a couple of kilos? :)

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Looks like the sum total of modern human electronic ingenuity falls slightly short of a .... horse!
Hi Alex
Odd little thing isn't it? It would make it interesting to find a sleeping spot/ encroach on others' space for sure .
Would be like bringing your pet though. With 'kanga's '. comment in mind- you could call him 'Troy'

If it includes a 20-port charging station for USB devices, he'll probably be forgiven for any encroachments.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Great observation. Troy, you can park yourself near my bunk.

Don't forget the satellite dish, and the flat screen TV!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

You might want to have a look at at one of the newest piece of kit for the U.S. military.

It is intended to carry packs and other items, like extra water, communication gear, ammunition, etc. that formerly would have to be carried by soldiers and marines. Evidently, there are a lot more injuries related to soldiers carrying too much weight a long hikes or into a fight. This is a response to that identified need. There go my tax dollars...

Back in the day, they used mules. But this does not bray or make sounds that might give the enemy an indication there are troops about.

Yes, it is creepy. I prefer the donkey or mules solution. Then again, pilgrims ought not be carrying that much in the first place.

No, I doubt he (unless he is a she) can get a Compostela. Yes, it has to be checked at the airport. And, no, you likely cannot afford the baggage charges...

But can I afford a custom made saddle?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Oh dear! After my saying Jamilla was cute, I'm having to eat my words.
She stumbled towards the first day on our training walk to St Albans and a 'fix' proved not to be so. Second day out and she was lurching like a drunkard.
Reluctantly, I've decided she needs a better wheel base and I don't think I can get her done before I'm due to depart in 9 days' time.
I have a choice - either leave without her, or wait another year. I'm leaning towards the latter as I'll probably only get one bite at this cherry.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Well, Allan - we'll most likely do some smaller pilgrimages in England -and maybe abroad (?) this summer.
My 'Camino' this year is apparently about learning to go with the flow ...

Our walk to St Albans (not) is now up on the website - jamilla-walking.tumblr.com/

If your passing Wolves, let me know - a photo would definetely get into our local rag and encourage others to think of walking/art. Now there's something to think about? Maybe you have found your calling?

Hi Mum,
There is an even better choice leave without her this year and then do another Camino with her next year when she is fit. You will also then have more than ample time to road test her. But don't give up at the first " hurdle ".
Hope to see you in Seville.....................Buen Camino

I did think about that Keith. But, being me, I'd then probably consider I'd done my Camino. And for some reason it's important to do it with Jamilla.
(The decision to do it wasn't mine, but that of the guy who's been in charge of my life's direction for the past x years.)
If I get an overwhelming urge to do it this year, then I will, but after a couple of semi-sleepless nights I feel I've made the right decision.
Pity - I've love to have met you in Seville ...
However - Buen Camino and vaya con Dios.

Definitely, Allan. I haven't had time to think much about it yet, but will stay on here from time to time.
I'll have to check out various dates - for example Walsingham has a main pilgrimage in August, I think.
