Time needed to walk from SJPP to Orrison

Time of past OR future Camino
Cruz de ferro to Santiago(2012)
SJPP to Ponferrada(2013)
SJPP to Santiago, (May/Jun2016)
I walk on the flat at 12 minute Km. From the train station in SJPP to Orrison which is about 8km, what would a reasonable time be to complete this, taking into account the climb. Would it be prudent to increase time to 18 min/km or more allowing for rest time?

Take the longer time--- it's not a race, and you will be adjusting your pack and your pace as you go along. After an hour, uphill feels alpine, even with preparation and practice.

Hola Bhirc,
I notice from an earlier post that you are arriving at SJPP late in the day, picking up a credential, then heading straight up the hill. Is this still the plan & do you know what time you will start the walk?
