Camino Francis - 10 May 2018 - 04 Jun 2018
Hola, I am considering walking the Camino Frances from May 18 and was wondering which would be the best way to get to St Jean Pied-de-Port from Sydney. Is there anyone who has recently completed or planning at trip and which way did you travel? thanks Pete

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Pete,
I usually fly Brisbane - Dubai - Paris, then take the train to Bayonne, and then train to SJPdP. Remember to give yourself a little time to get over the jet lag before starting your Camino if possible. Hope you have a great experience.
Buen Camino.

I'm thinking of flight to Madrid train to San sabastian then taxi to sjdp? But still planing.

"best" ? Cargo passage from Sydney port to Bordeaux, then walk.

I have flown to Paris via Hong Kong, train from airport to Bayonne, train/bus to SJPdP.
This year I flew to Madrid via Seoul (can recommend Korean Airlines and an overnight stopever in Seoul :)), bus from airport to Pamplona, bus to SJPdP.
Both routes work fine. The Madrid option was cheaper and I loved the super long 19 hour layover in Seoul. I spent the night at a great little guesthouse close to airport that did airport transfers.
Buen camino.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I flew into Bordeaux, many connections including Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Rome, etc. Quick bus transfer to the train station, about 2 hours to SJPP from there via Bayonne. Madrid to Pamplona and then the bus to SJPP is another good option. If you do this, enjoy Pamplona and then breeze through it on your Camino. However you do it, enjoy every step. Buen Camino.

I have done it 6 times, I have flown to Paris then train or bus to Bayonne. Train to SJPD.
Fly to Barcelona or Madrid. bus to Pamplona then bus to SJPD. So many options in Europe. Or you can fly to Paris then flight to Barritz. Share taxi to SJPD. Buen Camino

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
BTW, I left SJPP on May 19 if this year. Crossing the Pyrenees it was cool and partly cloudy when we set out. At Orisson the wind was blowing and it started raining, further up sleet (some had snow) and it was 39F. The next morning in Roncesvalles, it was in the low 40F and raining part of the day. My point is, be prepared. Towards the end of my Camino in Villafranca del Bierzo, it was 104F/40C. o_O

thank you all for the suggestions, I'll be checking them all to see which works best for me. Buen Camino
