I had following instructions. May be it works for you.

"If you would like to check the credit level on your Spanish Vodafone Pay as You Go mobile phone, follow the following instructions:

- Call 22134 from your vodafone mobile phone (will be in Spanish).

OR

- Type the following code *134# and then press the call button. The first balance check is free and the rest are charged at €0.15 plus taxes."

Am I able to buy a Vodaphone for Spain, in SJPdP or are such devices only marketed in Spain itself?
I need it for a burn phone, as my U.S. AT&T phone will charge mucho dinero for use in Europe.

you may consider to buy a prepaid sim card in advance. for instance from http://www.simcardspain.es/en/

You can NOT buy a Vodafone SIM in SJPdP for Spain. The first place for Vodafone shops or tiendas on the Camino Frances is in Pamplona. Here is a list of Vodafone tiendas in Pamplona(Iruna).
