i write this on behalf of the owner of Albergue serbal y la luna in Pierros-outside cacabellos
Help is needed!!! There is a large pile of wood and logs that need cutting up into fire size pieces and stored away-this will uncover a great area for an outdoor eating site.board and lodgings offered and a chance to absorb Albergue life and meet other pilgrims
Might suit two friends -probably take a few days to completely finish but any days offered would help
The wood needs to be stored ready for the cooler autumn months -
Please leave a message if you d like more details
I do hope help is found soon
Thanks

I've just finished that same job today at my father's place and would do it willingly if being there. Hope you'll find a pilgrim or two to help you with that!

That is a wonderful albergue! Anyone in the area might want to pop in.
I second that Annie, last year my walking partner and I had the whole place to ourselves and really delicious homemade veggie food. The hosts even left us in charge of the place whilst they went out dancing. Would help in a heartbeat if I was there. :(

Lovely comments
I loved it there too and wish I could go and help -it would make such a difference -but -we just have to trust and hope that the universe will deliver!!!!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi. You could put up a sign offering a free meal and bed for any pilgrim who would cut logs for, say, thirty minutes?

It sounds silly, I know... but when we have a need like that at our place, I walk out along the camino and ask God to provide it.
It sometimes takes a little while, but it never fails.
Nice try Reb ;) I mean walking out on Camino and asking God(s).
I wonder how would I feel walking by Moratinos and a lady would ask me as being a God to chop some wood. WOW :D

I suppose the albergue provides all the equipment needed (chain saw) along with personal protection equipment like eye, ear, hands, and feet protection. The job is not for inexperienced, in my opinion. Using chain saw can be dangerous.

What's the big hurry? It's only the end of May. After 15 years of depending on wood heat only, there is plenty of time. We cut all Summer and were just fine then for 5 months or so. If I was walking, I would definitely help though. For old time's sake.
