stamps for the camino passport

what is required daily or ?? for the credentials?can one walk lets say,10 km and pick up another 10k the next day.where and how do we collect the stamps and at what interval.Thanks.Peter

Many pilgrims get a stamp each evening when they stop for the day. Two stamps per day are required for the last 100 k especially if you are only walking 100 k and you wish a Compostela when you arrive in Santiago.

Getting a stamp wherever you stay the night is a good idea. You can get multiple ones in a day if you like - pretty much every church, bar, and restaurant will have a stamp - but you don't want to get too many and fill up your credential. As mentioned though, the last 100km, you'll want to get 2 per day.

There is absolutely no requirement about how many kilometres you have to walk each day. Just stamp your Credential each evening/afternoon in the place you spend the night and, on the last 100km walking, one more time during the day in churches/bars or any other point that offers a stamp and you will be fine. The main reason for getting the stamps is to show your progress along the route. This is used by the pilgrim office when you get your certificate, so that they can see that you really did walk the Camino (or bike, as the case may be). It is also used by the hosts of alberques - some alberques give preference to walkers over bike riders and people who take taxis and buses, so they need to see where you spent the previous night to make sure its reasonable that you got to their place on foot. If its only 1pm and your credential shows that you spent last night someplace 40km away, they will be skeptical that you actually walked there.

Yeah, pick up one stamp at the albergue, or wherever you stay. The hotels, pensiones and hostels will stamp your pilgrim's passport as well.
The second stamp you can get at a church, tourist office, cafe, restaurant or even a bar. It's easy enough to do on the last 100 km.

When I did the Camino back in 2010 I collected 90 stamps from cafes, churches, albergues etc just because I wanted to,,this July when I go back for the second time I may collect even more, by having extra photocopys of passport pages,It seems Iam addicted to stamps

I suspect I might be addicted to stamps too. Is it possible to carry two passports, so one can get more stamps?

There are so many places that will stamp your pilgrim's passport.
On my second Camino I filled up two of them with little effort.
