Of course, Madrid has a big, fast, secure, modern subway, in my opinion one of the best in the world!
After visiting the subway in cities like New York, London, Paris, Milan, etc ... I can say, it's really great! The best choice to go from the airport to any bus station, touristic place, etc...
Hi,
Denia is much close to Alicante than to Valencia.
There's another route well marked from Alicante. You can choose the one you prefer.
I don't know from Denia, but the Camino is also been recently marked from Benidorm, quite close to Denia as Alicante.
I hope this isformation is useful...
Hi Deborah,
Even, I would say, you have enough time to walk to Finisterre if you are interested in.
Buen Camino, enjoy it.

Well,
Even living in Madrid, I don't recommend the Camino de Madrid because you would need three weeks to walk it.
And, there's more historic reasons to walk each of the others that you suggest.
The Camino Primitivo is the first that King Alfonso II did in 829 to visit the Santiago Tomb. He...
It looks that the local association that was running this albergue has finished his work because some problems with local major.
Buen Camino,

Hi,
There's a lot of albergues with "couples of beds", not for couples but where you can sleep one beside the other.
And, there's some albergues where some rooms has just two beds: For example, Salamanca, Astorga (in times it was a convent) or the new albergue in Herbón, near Padron.
I hope...
Hi,
No albergues in that section. It was marked by the Generalitat, not by the associations, so the way is a turistic way, not so Camino de Santiago as it was really possible.
Buen Camino,

Hi,
In my opinion you will meet a few pilgrims everyday, you will never walk alone (like the Liverpool players, jeje).
But, I'm not sure about the idea of walking with a 12 years old child on autumn. I cant talk about.
Buen Camino, anyway

Well, you have many options.
1) To begin from the beginning. St. Jean, until you are able to walk in this 9 days. May be Logroño, Santo Domingo, Burgos. It depends on you.
2) To begin in Madrid, may be to Simancas. Absolutely lonely, but no problem about!
3) To arrive in Santiago you can...
Hi,
Is possible you find some snow, or the first day (less probable) or in Foncebadón or Cebreiro. Be ready for that and of course for some cold weather.
Buen Camino,

It's absolutely marked. From Lorca, even (where lives a pilgrim friend of mine, jeje). There's a way to join the Camino del Sureste from Alicante, from there to Albacete, etc. I don't know exactly where, but I can ask about if you need it.
The Camino de Levante from Valencia is recent, the...
Check everyday the albergues for the next journey. May be some of them are closed.
Be ready for snow. And, very, very careful about yourself if you decide to walk St. Jean-Roncesvalles. May be dangerous if the weather is not good.
Buen Camino, enjoy it.

Pips,
I've walked several times he Camino, many times every year I walk for a weekend wherever, and having some friends who are working as hospitaleros, etc, I've never heard about security problems in the Camino. Just the same problems than in your city or even less.
So, don't worry about...
Re: Introduction: Lugo
Hi,
When in Lugo, I use to take dinner in the Manger Restaurant, just crossing all the old part of the city from the albergue. So, it's really pleasure to enjoy their cuisine (at menu prize) and discovering the inside of the roman walls, and the cathedral, and ... Yes, I...
Just a few words to say I hope you have ¡¡Buen Camino!! from Cañaveral, the little town where my father was born 75 years ago.

The most difficult is to walk alone!! And, youi don't know if your new group walks at your rithm or speed, if they like to remain in the same places ... During the Camino you will meet your more appropiate partners to walk.
Buen Camino,
Javier Martin

Hi, Liz,
Mi opinion is, when you make longer walks don't forget to take a backpack with 5 kg. inside to let your back, legs and ankles to be used to an upper weight. Most future pilgrims forget it.
Buen Camino, good training,
