Hi All
I arrive in Narbonne on 29th June and will start walking June 30th. My intention is to walk along the Canal du Robine until it meets the Midi. From there I will follow the Midi into Carcasonne. Mainly because (apart from just wanting to walk the canals) I've recently sprained my ankle and am looking to do some easy walking before tramping up hill and down dale on the Pilgrimage trail. Anyway, I will pick up the Pilgrim trail in Carcosonne and head to Somport, then to Pampalona, after that, who knows!
I'll be camping along the way with the odd stay in Alberges etc
I'm really excited about my first Walk (my backpack has been packed for two weeks), a little apprehensive maybe, being alone. But, from what I've read on this forum, there will be others along the Way. I believe July and August are the busiest months.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who will be around during at that time.
PS If there are any ladies out there looking to buy a backpack I can recommend Osprey. They do women specific backpacks. I think they are a Norwegian company which concentrates solely on backpacks.
And for train travel around Europe try online Loco2. I've found them to be very good.
