Time of past OR future Camino

Hello fellows pilgrim and walkers, I need to make a decision. I will arrive after 8 AM in SJPP. Get my credential and visit the city. My doubt is: Should I start the camino strait away to Roscesvalles after noon?
Or Should I get sightseeing in SJPP and after noon climb to Orisson Hostel and from there the next day go Roncesvallles?

It is important to know that I am not fit and slow walker  .

Thank you all in advance.

Then forget doing it in one stage -- 8 AM would be a late start to do so in the first place, and that's without the sightseeing and credencial-getting.

It is THE most physically demanding stage on the whole Camino.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Fatima1964,

I am arriving to SJPdP at 10 am. We will spend couple hours and leave around midday to Orisson (accomodation pre booked). Next day we will continue on. This way we have an option of stopping in Roncessvalles or keep going further.

Thanks JabbaPapa and AndyKoda.

Decision done. I will follow the advice and stay in Orisson . I send mail to them and wait for reply. Lets see if they have a place. :?
Hope so

Thanks again

Buen Camino

Andykoda lets try to catch up on SJPP. I am still waiting a reply from Orisson.

Buen camino.

Fatima,
from what i gather you are starting on the 9th of May. That is almost a month ahead of me. I am starting on the 5th of June. So unless you are a reaaallyy slow walker :) I might not catch up :)
Buen Camino anyway.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
On the Camino now...I have met so many people who did the stretch from SJPP to Roncesvalles in one day and two or three days later (...Pamplona-...) were physically wrecked. Unless you are in top physical condition and your backpack is light (say, 10% or less of your ideal body weight), do yourself and your Camino a favor and go just to Orisson or Valcarlos on your first day. Then cross over into Spain and on to Roncesvalles on the second day. Once you are stronger and your body is conditioned, you can then rack up the daily kilometers.

Take your time, enjoy your journey, sit and savor the view...
