All the statistics from Santiago,157 varieties of pilgrims

JohnnieWalker

Nunca se camina solo
Hola

I've published the analysis of the statistics for the year to date here: http://johnniewalker-santiago.blogspot.com So far this year over 190,000 pilgrims from 157 different countries have registered in the pilgrims office.

One of the most talked about things in Santiago is the increased number of English speaking pilgrims particularly from the United States. The number of American pilgrims increased yet again during November.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes

John

Re: All the pilgrim stats from Santiago - 157 varieties of pilgr

Excellent work, John! THe U.S. numbers are likely buoyed by the release of The Way and one has to wonder how long they will be inflated because of it. You seem to have lost 2 Australians somewhere along the way...my guess is they went walkabout ;) (Table numbers vs. by country numbers). It's also very encouraging for Spain that so many pilgrims are coming from outside the EU. It'll be interesting to see 2013's numbers.

Well, since you offered...I do have a question. Do you have the stats for May-June 2011 and Sept-October of this year? I'd like to have an idea of the numbers so I can plan fot different options like walking until later in the afternoon if there's no rush for finding a bed. In May and June 2011, I never had trouble finding a bed but I stopped walking at around 1:30 or 2 PM. Thanks in advance

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hello, I'm not doing the Camino (yet), so I don't know if this question fits in this forum... But I'm looking for advice and I think this is the best place. I'm planning a three or four days trip...
