Camino Ball Cap

Time of past OR future Camino
2017 - Camino Frances
2019 - Camino Portugues

Take a bog standard ball cap and pin a scallop to it? I don't usually carry a scallop shell these days but I do have a small pewter shell badge on my hat.

We started with ball caps but sent them ahead to Santiago at Pamplona and bought bucket hats with big brims all the way around. They just weren’t protective enough from the sun.

This has the extra advantage of being oh so historic. Look at all of those representations of Santiago Peregrino where he has a scallop on his broad brimmed hat. The hat seems to have been one of the most common places to display one's scallop.
