Connectivity from Australia

Time of past OR future Camino
2017 Camino Frances,
2019 C. Portuguese (inland).
Is anyone else in Australia, or elsewhere, having difficulty with access to this Forum? I am experiencing very, very lengthy delays in nearly everything I do here, no matter which button I click, no matter what I do, to the point where it's practically unworkable for me to participate. Is it just me and my machine? Anyone else out there noticing a big difference in access?? Jim.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
There have been reports of similar experiences [...] but I expect that is something completely different.
That'd be me.
Same experience on this end, and it may not be different, who knows?

I did all the usual things, and upgraded my operating system, as well as now using a different browser that @ivar suggested that has a built-in VPN.

I'm happy to see that you are able to post again @VNwalking !

Yay! Happy that that worked!

My sentiments exactly! Thanks, Ivar — it's the Opera browser that seems to have made the difference. It's still slow as can be with Firefox and even Chrome Lite — although the latter is a good deal faster.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
That'd be me.
Oh I had no idea that was you and that was the country while skimming the other thread. You must be living through extraordinary times. I hope you and everyone you know are safe.

Just a few days ago I edited and published some old writing from my 2003 trip there because it seems relevant again in the wake of the coup. If anyone is interested, DM me and I can send you the link.

Yup.
And there I was thinking covid was interesting.
I'm safe and do not anticipate otherwise. Just back to the bad old days. But not quite. In the bad old days nobody had phones. Now everybody does, and they're in their hands.

Hi Lexicos
Might be just your area (Melbourne), or your system.
Mine is working normally here with my usual forum access and speed (here in Sydney ).

good luck with your issue.

I am in Western Australia and all is fine here with me.....access to the forum is very good....no hiccoughs and everything is nice and fast. Hopefully, you will sort through what is going wrong for you and be back 'up and running again' as soon as possible. Cheers.

I haven’t noticed any problems with access, but I haven’t been active in posting lately so let’s see how long it takes for this comment to appear.

Had some connection difficulties from France to Oz yesterday, so there may be some current networking problems between Europe and Down Under.

1 Turn your device off then turn it on again
2 Purchase a new device

That does not assist in situations where intermediary route servers connecting your computer with your ISP and into the global interwebs might malfunction.
