"Plan to hike in 2016
Hi!

I'm hiking the Camino de France this coming May, I'm doing the whole route, but friends who are starting with me are doing just five days or so....

I figure at about 17 miles a day roughly, we will make it to Logroño.

Can anyone advise the best way for my friends to return home to the UK from there?

Thanks

Astrid

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Direct direct bus from Logrono to Madrid Airport T4 - a wealth of UK air-routes from there. Bus fare 18 - 30 Euro, depending on time of booking and type of service.

Hi Astrid

There are 2 easy ways to get from Logrono back to the UK.

1) Take a bus from Logrono coach station to Bilbao coach station, where you can get a bus to the airport and fly back to the UK. Easy Jet and other airlines fly to the UK from here.

2) Get the train from Logrono to Zaragoza, change to the bus which takes you to the airport and then fly back (Ryanair fly to Stansted). I would recommend the train over the coach; if the tickets are bought in advance it can also be cheaper as well as more comfortable.

Coach times can be found here http://www.aautobuses.com/index.php/autobuses

Train information http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html

If you have not travelled by train in Spain before this site explains all the different classes, types of trains etc.

Google maps for location of the coach and train stations

The airport websites will tell you the times of the buses to and from the airports; they are usually very frequent and only cost a couple of euros.

Be aware that the busses may be fully booked - I've been caught out myself and had to take 2 trains to get to Madrid.

Here is a pic from 2016, I love the simplicity of the sketch map and directions "1 km climb up, 5km flat, 5km down". I wonder how the prices are now?
