Hi,
I'd like to think that I'm not too technologically-challenged, but I can't quite seem to figure out how to search for posts/information on the Forum. For example, I'm looking for posts where people made Madrid hotel suggestions, so I put "Madrid hotel" in the search bar, but it came back as too broad a search topic. I also tried "Madrid accommodation" with the same results. I ended up scrolling thru countless pages trying to find the info I was looking for. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Alipilgrim

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Ali,

Someone else can probably give you more help, but here's what I'd do. Type: "site:caminodesantiago.me madrid hotel" without the quotation marks into the Google search box. That'll show you anything on this site with "Madrid" and "hotel" on it. The search seems to be set up to search a bunch of Camino-related websites (and remember, the first few "results" are ads, so they probably won't be as related to what you're looking for).

I don't know if there's an easier way to search this board in particular.

Hope this helps!

Let me try to explain a bit... there is a search box at the top right of each page. This is the search that is built into the forum software. Sometimes you can find what you are looking for there, but many times I find it not to be as good as I would like.

Because of that I have added the Google search box at the bottom of each page. This searches a few camino related sites (including this one) in one search... it searches the pages that google has in its index. This is the same search box that you find on this home page of the site:
http://www.caminodesantiago.me/

Between the two, I hope you can find what you are looking for... it is not ideal, I know... but it's what it is. If anyone has ideas on how to make this better, please let me know...

Saludos,
Ivar

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hello Ivar,
We have the 'Freefind' search engine on a website we run.It links to pages on the site and updates monthly. Reports weekly on searches made. I think that these can be set by the site administrators for longer or shorter updating etc. I am about to send you a PM with the Freefind website link in case you want to look at it.

I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
