I'm in Léon and would like to know how the Camino Frances is all the way to Santiago.

Time of past OR future Camino
Plan to walk Camino de Santiago April/May/June 2016.
Dear Camino family please let me know what to expect and if I should be aware of things I should be prepared for? Thanks for any information that may be of interest. God bless you all, Amen

Sincerely

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I walked from Hospital d'Orbigo to Santiago (and Pamplona to Burgos). Loved it! Be prepared for the obvious.(hills and more crowded after Sarria) But also enjoy the amazing scenery. It's simply gorgeous . The downhill to El Acebo is hard so be ready for that. We had dry weather last year but I understand that normally the weather in Galicia is often wet. Either way , it's a nice stretch !

Seems it is rather busy just now, starting in Leon I would suggest you make the first stage via Villar de Mazarife as the direct way to Hospital de Orbigo is basically only alongside the national road. Buen Camino, SY

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I'm also walking from Leon but in 1 June to Santiago... I'm wondering about the weather, everyone's saying " you just take this take that" but at this rate I'm going to need a suitcase I'm thinking of layering my clothing so if it's cooler add a layers instead all the bulky jacket?

Hi, if you stop in Hospital d'Orbrigo, there is an amazing Albergue Verde. Didn't stay regrettably but everyone raves about it. In Villafranca del Bierzo stayed at Albergue de la Piendra. Very nice and lovely people. Try to go to the Samos route if you have the time. It is lovely.
Buen Camino

Just post your packing list in a separate thread and we help you to sort it out ;-) And yes, layers are the way to go! Buen Camino, SY

There is really only one tough stage and that is from Villafranca del Bierzo to O'Cebreiro. Quite a few people decide to do it in 2 days, spending the night in La Faba - great albergue here. Albergue De La Piedrain Villafranca del Bierzo is a great place to spend the night before tackling the the stage mentioned above. By the way, when you get to Triacastela, take the option on the left to Samos - The monastery at Samos is really worth a visit. Buen Camino.
