- Time of past OR future Camino
- CF summer-06, SJPP to Burgos Sept-13, Burgos to Astorga Sept-14 (Astorga to Santiago de Compostela sept 15)
On Sunday morning I arrive in SJPP and have booked to stay at Orisson the first night. I am so thrilled and can hardly think about anything else. My husband says that he has hardly seen me this focused before, except from when I conceived our twin daughters six years ago... ;-) I have packed, amended and re-packed my back pack several times and have now reached the point where I believe I have all the necessities but no extra stuff. I aim for 6,5 kgs incl water and think I made it but I don't have the possibility to control it before security control at Ryanair 
. The pack is lighter than my several exercise walks anyway so I think I am prepared.
I will only have the possibility to walk ten days on the CF but I so much look forward to be back on the Way, even if I know it will be an entirely different Camino to my previous one (year 2006). This time I hope to be a lot calmer, be more in the now, take my time to see more and enjoy more. Last time I rushed the Camino as if it was some sort of competition. Well, at that point, my whole life was like a big competition... It is so true what they say, that the real Camino starts once you get home again. For me it turned out to be a lot of interior work that needed to be done... Ever since I got home last time I have longed to go back to refill that wonderful Camino spirit and energy. This time my aim is to be mindful and enjoy the moment, wherever it is taking me. No plans are made except for the first night at Orisson and it is such a luxury to only have to think about walking, the daily washing routines and the people I meet (and how to avoid bed bugs, but I try not to think so much about that...)
I wish to say a HUGE thank you to Ivar who so generously has started and developed this forum and to all of you who are contributing with tips, discussions and ideas about thousands of topics. Thanks to all of you it is a lot easier to keep the Camino alive inside. Hopefully I will meet a few of you on the trail next week.
