Frances 2014
Hi everyone,

I'm flying to Santiago on Tuesday to walk to Finistere and Muxia. I did the Camino frances in 2014 and want to do the last bit now.

I think I've packed everything I need and I've checked the weather which seems to be around the 10 degree mark during the day and 4 degrees at night.

Is there anything I should be aware of before I get started? Weather, albergues, how many fellow pilgrims, gear, tips, best kept secrets along the way?

Many thanks and buen camino.

Michaela

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
There is no need for a special map for this route as it is EASY to follow the yellow arrows. However, the Eroski guide offers a good schematic on line >> http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es./lo ... -fisterra/

In Santiago the Galicia Tourist Office at 30 rua do Vilar near the cathedral provides an invaluable free multilingual list of ALL services on the path including accommodation, restaurants/bars, buses/taxis. Do pick one up before you set off.

Walking across the hills near Cee you can at last glimpse the sea. Near-by is the simple, welcoming albergue at SanRoque/Corcubion. >> http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es./al ... san-roque/ In the dark from the dorm window when you see the lighthouse beacon at Finisterre shining out to sea it is magical.

Carpe diem and Buen camino!

Thank you, I've made a note of the albergue in San Roque. Will I actually need new credentials or can I just carry on with my 2014 ones?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
You might wish to carry your 2014 pass to show that you have walked into Santiago. However
you can get a special Finisterre Credencial in Negeira at the municipal albergue and/or perhaps in SdC at the Galacia Tourism office. As well you can obtain a special certificate when you do arrive in Finisterre.

If you hike to Finisterre and Muxia then take the time to get the Certificates for hiking both of these routes...in Finisterre at the tourist office next to the bus station at the bottom of the hill...in Muxia it is easiest at the Municipal Albergue.
