I recently walked this section of the Camino (Napoleon route to Roncesvalles) and took a few photos of some monuments along the way. Would love to know the names and/or their significance and any stories associated with them. I found one previous post identifying one of them as Croix Thibaut, but was not able to determine any story behind it. Thank you, in advance, for any information and or links.

Ok, just found out what the brass plaque is all about ... sharing for those like me that had no idea. :) Here is the link.

I came across this old post about the Camino de Santiago and the monuments on the Napoleon Route. I actually walked that section of the Camino a few years ago and took some photos of those same monuments. It was really cool to see them in person, knowing that they had been there for centuries. I'm new here on this forum. I was browsing for some info about death and funerals because my aunt passed away today, and I'm helping with the funeral arrangements. It's tough, but I'm doing my best to stay positive and remember all the good times we shared. The post mentioned one monument called Croix Thibaut but didn't have much information about it. I'd love to know more about that one and any other monuments along the route. I'm also interested in memorial bench inscription ideas, which I recently discovered. Do any of you have suggestions or feedback on that? Thanks in advance for your help!

#1 - Not sure right now.
#2 - Not sure but I recently read on the forum that there are about 200 numbered posts along the way up there to mark the path.
#3 - Croix Thibault marks the way where the path leaves the road. Somewhere on the forum I think I came upon the reason for the name.
#4 - Marks that you have left France and are in Navarra, Spain now.
#5 - No time to translate right now.
#6 - 765 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela.

What’s going on at the Cruz de Ferro. I saw an Instagram post of a protest that took place this past Sunday, 26 November. Something about route change, moving the cross? Anyone here have details?
Is there a thread in the forum that talk's about this route. I couldn't find anything. Can someone tell me about their experience for this route? I'll be traveling from Sarria to Santiago in July...

Walking the Camino is much more interesting than planning your next albergue or talking with cousin Bill on your cellphone, educational and fun if you know a bit of history, architecture, and art...
Greetings I have searched for transportation information along the Camino Frances. I am considering spending time in Paris and at Juno Beach (I'm Canadian) prior to starting the French Camino...
