I'm flying out of Oregon, USA and will arrive Madrid on 29 September. I'm looking to begin my Camino from SJPP on October 1st!

Of course, I've been working with gearing up and working out for several weeks now, and just completely kicked my own *** with an 8.14 hike at Silver Creek Falls, in nearby Silverton, Oregon. Ten falls, all arranged along a muddy up and down, up and down track....with lots of stairs, good steepness, et cetera, and replete with downhills. I'm so exhausted, but it feels great! I'm thinking that by JULY, I will be doing that hike TWICE, which will be 16 miles (about 25 k.) of butt-kicking workout. I'm hardcore once I start!

As a 55 year-old, I can hold my own---or so I like to think.

Is anyone else here planning an October 1 start?

Deb,
I shall be flying out of Calgary, Canada on Sept. 28, arriving in Madrid on September 29 and staying overnight at Corazon Puro. I plan to leave from SJPP on September 30, staying my first night at Orisson, then onward. I have a few years on you, so no doubt you will catch up with me somewhere.

Lovely Albertgirl--we just may cross paths sooner, if I get excited and depart from SJPP on 30 Sept! I am considering that, as I may need the rest days further in rather than on the front end. I look forward to meeting you <3

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

And sorry for misspelling your name there, Ms. Albertagirl! I'm exhausted from the hike today...
