We will be arriving in Pamplona on Sept. 1st at 8:30 pm to start our trek on the Camino. Should we (and can we) reserve 2 beds at a hostel or is this necessary? Thanks, appreciate any feedback. Monique

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
By hostel, if you mean an albergue, you cannot reserve. If you mean hostal, very similar to a hotel with a private room and bath, you probably do not need to reserve. There are many in Pamplona. However, to avoid a long walking search of the city for one that fits your budget, it would make sense to reserve in advance.

You can search Google maps for "hostal" and "hotel," then click on the icons that appear, or you can go to booking.com and search Pamplona, Spain. Both ways will eventually show you prices. Expect to pay about 35E for a single, and 40E for a double.

Buen camino, and congratulations for not being intimidated by other posts that want you to search the Forum before asking a question!!!!

Hola Monique,

Welcome to the Forum!

September will still be a busy time on the Camino. Since you are arriving in Pamplona in the evening for your peace of mind while traveling it would be best to reserve beds ahead. Reservations can only be be made in private pilgrim albergues. See this Spanish Eroski list for all albergues in Pamplona >> http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es./et ... a-pamplona. Click on each name and then on the yellow box marked Ver ficha completa del albergue and then read Reserva de plaza en el albergue to see if reservations ARE possible.

Good luck and Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi,
We have booked ahead into a hostel called Aloha Hostel. You can see it on google. It looks like a brand new private albergue, is central, and costs 15 euros with a credencial. They have 4 bedded rooms and a 10 bedded room. If you book online, where it says " observations " you will need to mention that you are a peregrina to get the reduced price.
Buen camino :)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Wow, that albergue looks pretty spiffy. Hard to beat that price in a non-albergue place, but if you want a private bath and a double room, the Hostal Bearan goes for 45 euros. I love its location, very close to the Plaza Mayor, and it is right across the street from my favorite Pamplona restaurant -- the Basseri.
