Route diversions

Time of past OR future Camino
Spring 2024
Hi everyone,

While watching a series of videos on the Camino Ingles, the creator mentioned a few diversions which take you off the road. Has anyone done this? It sounds much more pleasant than pounding the tarmac unnecessarily.

Here is the video which he mentions it.

Many thanks,

Taff

As others have suggested, I would recommend John Brierley's 'A pilgrim's guide to the Camino Ingles'. It often provided useful detours when road walking was likely to be aversive and was thorougly inspirational to boot! A wonderful guide.
Thank you both, I've ordered it from amazon (It was out of stock on here) Looking forward to having a nose at it :)

Haven’t done it yet but the ‘Buen Camino de Santiago App’ has diversions & detours on its map which may be the diversions he mentions.
I took a couple of diversions using the Buen Camino App, to avoid roads - one had roadside markers as a 'complementary route' but the other was unmarked and I'd have got lost without the App and GPS.
