Is the waymarking to Samos and then to Sarria on that route clearly evident? Thanks.

VERY evident. Waymarking is spot on, all the way to Sarria. At the end of Triacastela, you'll see a big unmissable sign at the split. Just turn left for Samos and take care on the along the road for the first few kms. If in any doubt, just remember that walking right along the main road at any point upon leavingTriacastela (and kind of going back on yourself for a bit before turning left onto a pleasant small road) means you are following arrows for the San Xil route.

But I remember that several years ago the waymarking after the split was not 100% clear in some villages. I got definitely sent straight onto a wet pasture by a yellow marker, but it was leading nowhere. Had to retrace though the mud and ignore said marker.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

When leaving Samos I did not expect the tunnel like climb its of only a couple hundred meters but it takes your breath away not in a scenic way.

I have walked it 3 times with no questions . The walk from Triacastra to Samos is very pretty. And the monestary is well with a tour. The Albergue is crowded by nice.

I agree, and I found it claustrophobic. And actually the day I walked from Samos was very humid, even though it was October, and the canopy of trees and forested paths intensified the 'closeness'. I was relieved when the route joined the trail from San Xil.

There are very few amenities after Samos, so walkers would be wise to take along food and definitely adequate water.

Yes - I had no issues going to/from Samos. I always have an app with a downloaded map as a backup, but I had not trouble there.

This is a great reminder that everyone is different! I loved the tunnel made by trees and moss. It was like being in a Tolkein story!
