Hi pilgrims after a wet, bone drenching walk from O'Cebreiro today, I am keen on following the shorter route via San Xil to Sarria but want to know whether it is well marked as I am too tired to struggle with navigation. Also would like to know how difficult the terrain is? Hope the rain is gone by the morning.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Yes, not to worry. it's rolling up and down, but as @falcon269 says, mildly so.
I actually was surprised to find that I liked this route better than the one through Samos. It's lovely.
Buen camino--I hope the weather treats you better than it did today.

Well marked, less highways, manageable, with spectacular views of the valley (San Xil). Buen Camino

It is one of the most beautiful stages. Be sure to stop at Art's Gallery, just out of Triacastela. Really nice, intersting guy. Wish I were there to walk that stage again.
