What is the best way to make a reservation for refuge Orisson. I have emailed a couple of times without a response. I realize this is a very busy time of year and I don't need it until September but id like to do a little walk my first day away from the crowds.

I am booked into Orisson for Sept 18th. They only take email bookings, no phone reservations. They also are slow in responding to emails. In my case it was 5 days. Others in the Forum have had a similar experience.

Ditto for me. I emailed them through their website, it took them almost 1 week (maybe 6 days) to respond. I am booked with them for September 6.

Not sure about reservations. Last year four of us which I met in Bayonne we stayed at a church run hostel across from bakery in SJPP the hospitalera made reservations for us and we were there when she phoned them.

These threads on Orisson reservations have been very helpful, but I still have a question. How far in advance can/should one make reservations? My wife and I will be doing our Camino in early May 2016. My understanding is that Orisson is closed for much of the winter. Is it best to make reservations in the fall or late summer?

I made my booking for Orisson in February for this coming September. You can make a booking when they are closed.

Thank you for the info. My Husband and I are planning to walk the Camino 2016 in May and would also like to book at Orisson for the first night. Would like to get a confirmed booking way ahead just be sure.
