The Cathedral sheds scaffolding

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
It took a long time, but the results will be worth it. However, renovation work continues inside and outside the Cathedral, especially around the rear, facing Plaza de Quintana.

In particular, when I was there a few weeks ago, there was a temporary structure blocking the "hidden Pilgrim" or "Ghost of Santiago" phenomenon around the back side. I do hope nothing is changed that affects this popular, but little documented feature. It is fun.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Make a note: the scaffolds are going up INSIDE the cathedral starting late this year and extending into 2019, all in preparation for the next big Holy Year. For at least six months Masses will be moved to the iglesia San Francisco, and no one can say yet what kind of access pilgrims will have to the saint´s shrine itself.
No one´s talking much about this in public, because they don´t want to cause a ruction.

When I walked the Camino Portuguese in the fall of 2012 there were no scaffolds on the front of the Cathedral. I'll be walking the Camino Portuguese again this fall, and there will be no scaffolds on the front of the Cathedral. I should have walked the Camino Portuguese sooner.

Hooray!!!!!!

Sept will be my third and I anticipated seeing the scaffolding yet again. What a joy.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Just a bit of scaffolding on the side towers, but the main portal into the church is still blocked and under renovation. Still, definitely an improvement!F0B41C02-ADA0-4FB0-9790-BEA767DDC2FA.jpeg

Oh, I learned a new word today..."ruction." It is a noun and means "a disturbance, quarrel, or row."

Yes, it would certainly cause that among all the tourists and many of the pilgrims.

Thanks Rebekah!
