What is the latest time you pick up the pilgrims passport in

We are arriving into St. jean at 530pm by train. Our hotel does not offer the passport but said another local hostel does. What time do the hostels close? We wanted to start early the next day but are unsure if we can get the passport in the late evening the night before.

All the best,
Buen Camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The pilgrims office is open from 7h30 to 12h30 and then from 13h30 to 22h.

If you have accommodation booked it may be a good idea to get something to eat and drink while the crowds from the train go to the Pilgrim Office, get processed and find somewhere to stay. Then there might be a nice quiet gap before the next train arrives.

They're great at that office, and even arriving at peak time it's not exactly a nightmare. Just a bit of hanging around...buying shells...etc. :D

Buen Camino!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I went into the pilgrim office right after getting off the train. It was pandemonium. Two hosts and 12 pilgrims speaking six languages all at once. The office is only big enough for 4 people who are close friends. We were ushered next door and asked to wait so I popped down the street and bought a couple bottles of wine. That was a language everyone spoke and it made the atmosphere quite jovial.
