Quick questions:
What is the cost of a taxicab from/to Orisson if we want to split the first stage into a 2 day walk?
Are taxicabs readily available?

Thanks.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Express Bourricot are great and I also recommend them but they operate on a fixed schedule (i.e. at fixed times only) and you need to pre-book them, you can't just hop in if they happen to come past as they don't have a taxi license.

Yes, was aware of Express Bourricot. Not sure the fixed schedule and booking will work for us.
Any taxicab specific information would be helpful.
Thanks.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Kmvreter,
If you Google the terms Saint Jean Pied de Port and taxi several possibilities pop up.

I can't help from experience but this is what Ms Google suggests.

I used Express Bouricott to take me to Orisson. It was 8 euros. The first 5 miles is the steepest and was glad that I had.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

There is a taxi phone number posted at Orisson. I used it last fall and the nice gentleman taxi driver picked me up the next morning and returned me to Orisson. Buen Camino!

Sounds like just what I need. Do you mind me asking the cost?
Thanks.

Let us know what you find out as others might be interested! Good Luck!

Napoleon-Compostelle were very prompt in replying. Their rates are as advertised.

Arranged an afternoon pick-up at the Virgin of Orisson statue going back to SJPdP for a flat fee of 30 euros as a private taxi for the two of us. The per passenger fee is lower if you ride with others as a shuttle. The next morning we get picked up and brought back to the statue to resume our pilgrimage for another 30 euros. Sixty euros total seems reasonable.

Will update with a post of our experience in a few weeks.

Thank you. What time are you being picked up In the morning? Earlier than 8:30am? Thank you for this info. It offers others another alternative

Times have not been finalized but looking for an early start. That is one reason why we didn't want to go with The Mountain Shuttle from Express Bourricot scheduled at 8:30am.
Will be meeting with NC after we arrive in SJPdP to finalize plans and payment.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Everything went as planned. Jean Paul is flexible with the timing depending on his other commitments.
We went to Gite Zuharpeta to arrange things. Turns out his sister, Sabin, owns or manages the restaurant and speaks good english. (As an aside this is a great lunch spot.)
She made the call to verify the times. We added an extra ride at 7 am from our accomodations to the town centre to start our pilgrimage. We had arranged a 12:30 pm pickup at the Orisson Virgin statue but arrived there earlier so made a call and got picked up at noon. Picked up the next morning for the return up, happened to be at 8:30 because it was raining and the forecast was looking better for later.
60€ cash plus the extra ride. (Another aside. Sure glad we split the first stage over 2 days.)

Buen Camino.
