Baby carrier cover question

I know this is a very specific question, but I keep running into walls in Australia. We are heading off very soon on our first camino, leaving Australia on the 20th Jan, but starting our camino on Valetines Day. We are after a rain cover for a deuter kid comfort iii baby carrier, but can't find one, even used, anywhere in Australia. Any ideas of shops in Sydney, Paris or early in the Camino francés where we could get one?

Hi Paul, This may not help you, but I gave one of these to my daughter and son in law for their growing family recently, and it had a built-in rain cover, at least if I understood correctly what I was buying. I'm assuming your model doesn't have that feature, but it may explain why you can't find separate rain covers for sale.

But as I was googling around a bit, I found that they do make a cover for the kid comfort ii model, which may work for you.

Good luck with this, I don't know how much hiking you've done with the deuter, but my little grandkids love them! Buen camino, Laurie

Thanks for looking Laurie. We are after this one.

The kid comfort iii does have an inbuilt sun shade, which is very handy, but certainly not up to a winter camino.
It is a corker of a carrier. We had to order it from England, and it is well worth it. The people who supplied it can't order in the cover though. I always figured we'd just pick it up eventually, but now two weeks out from departure and we're struggling.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Can't you order it from the web site and having it delivered to somewhere in Europe to pick up on arrival? From the Deuter website I mean? Or at least contact them and ask them for help? Link: http://www.deuter.com/de/en/ Buen Camino! SY

Thanks to all for feedback. I've finally gotten my hands on one, well ordered it with a guarantee that it will arrive before our departure. We ordered it through http://www.wildfiresports.com.au/de...id=CJru6Zb-gcMCFQYJvAodV0cApw#stock-popup-box in case any other Aussies are looking for one in future.
Now we are just relying on it being as good as promised! We are now three pairs of pants away from having the whole family (7 of us) completely kitted out for our Winter/Spring Camino. Very close now!

Good news for you. Hope you have a wonderful family camino and that you'll let us know how it's going from time to time. Any chance you'll have a blog? Buen camino, Laurie.
Thanks Laurie. I'm toying with having a blog. I started one in preparing, but found that it took a lot of time to write each entry. I'll certainly let you know how it's going though. Thanks again for your concerns and time in seeking the cover for us.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I've been getting the response from everyone that it is no longer available, not that they can't order it. However, based on Laurie's link, I've found an alternate name for it and might be on to something now.

I'll call them in the morning, fingers crossed now!
Hi Paul....I would also consider contacting Main Peak (I know that they are in Perth....not sure about the other States) but they do advertise this particular carrier and they may well be able to advise you further.....Camino Hugs and very best of luck, also, Safe travels to you all...

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
