Busing within the camino?

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning for June 2015
Hello all,

I would like to do about a ten day walk this June and am still deciding on a route. My main goals are scenery and a true camino experience (at least, as much as I can get in ten days)! I am tentatively thinking of walking the Camino de Salvador from Leon to Oveida and then continuing on the Camino del Norte to Ribadeo or so, but I'm also open to walking for 5-ish days, busing to a different town, and continuing for 5 more days to combine two scenic parts. Would I have a problem staying in an albergue if I include a mid-route bus trip?

Also, as a first-time walker, seeing Santiago is important to me, but I'm not too interested in a short route that ends in Santiago as I've heard it's not very scenic and is quite commercialized now. If I finished in, say, Ribadeo and took a bus to Santiago, would I still be able to get a compostela? (I would have over 100 km, just not leading up to Santiago.)

Thanks! :)

You must finish the last 100km of a camino in Santiago for a compostela, which is for a pilgrimage to the tomb of St. James, not for just walking. You should not have a problem using albergues with your credential, but some operators make their own rules, so be prepared.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Why don't you do the Inglés (5 or 6) days, then spend some time in Santiago?

Thanks so much for yours answers so far! I've decided that ending in Santiago is not so important to me for this trip, and after googling scenery I'm torn between the Camino Portugues Tui-Santiago or the Ruta Vadiniense Potes-Leon, and then continuing a bit on the Camino Frances. I think I would like to see the Picos de Europa so I'm leaning towards the Vadiniense, but I'm a bit put off by the few people on the route-- I would be traveling alone and want to stay safe and on the trail, plus I might not get the true camino experience (part of why I would continue on the CF for a bit). Thoughts?

Falcon, are you saying just do the CF? Is there an especially scenic part you would recommend?
