- Time of past OR future Camino
- 2009-2022: CFx6, CP, VdlPx2, Mozarabe, more later.
First. I want to give my thanks to all of you who has PM'ed me after I lost my older brother in a foreign land, unable to see him or participate in any kind of final ceremony, to this terrible virus one week ago. I have deeply appreciated your words, since it is coming from my own kind: Pilgrims.
Personally, I switch between numbness, sorrow, and tears, but also fond memories, which helps me some. Well, life must go on, I suppose, and maybe someday in the future I'll get a Compostela In vicario pro (in absence of) for him in Santiago.
Some of you have also experienced similar loss: I send my deepest condolences to you all.
Also, sharing your loss, seeking comfort from compassionate fellow beings, is important. Remember when you found new friends on the Camino (or elsewhere):
Shared joy is double joy.
Similar with loss:
Shared grief is half grief.
Hope this helps some.
