I'm hoping to start to VdlP at the end of September. Can anyone confirm if walking staffs are available to buy in Seville as they are in SJPdP? I much prefer a staff to a metal stick so if they are there can you let me kmow where? My staff in SJPdP cost me 7 Euros so I would be looking for something circa 10 Euros max.
Also can I buy Credentials from the Cathedral?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I will be doing the VDLP when we have a vaccine but have done some research. The Hotel Simon issued credentials, you can check Gronze.com and look at the albergue and hostel listings and that will give information on who sells credentials. You can also get a credential here from si at. If you are going all the way you probably will need 2.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I didn’t see staffs but bought walking poles at centrally located Decathlon in Sevilla before I started. Enjoy that wonderful Camino. I’m very envious :)

Getting a Credencial at the moment in Seville isn't so easy. Triana Backpackers and Hotel Simon are both closed. During the weeks there's the Amigos Office, their opening times are here https://www.viaplata.org/atencion-al-peregrino or the Cathedral which opens weekdays evenings.

Check back closer to your departure date and I can tell you if this has changed.

Also, staffs, don't know where you'd get one of those. Seville isn't a "pilgrim town" unlike SJPP. However, as someone else said, there are several Decathlons.

Beware the Amigos office in Seville is almost never open despite their posted hours. I learned this the hard way after going there three separate days during their supposed open hours. A family which ran a restaurant across the street noticed me and came to fetch me. They told me the place is almost never open and they saw pilgrims like me from time to time waiting in vain. They invited me over to their restaurant and fed me very well for very little, and told me to just go get my credentials at the Triana, which as stated above, is now closed.

Hi Staffman, if you want just a stick then maybe a broom handle from a ferretaria (ironmongers-hardwear shop) would serve?
Regards
George

We live 100 km north of Seville and have not been into the city since February but we have certainly seen bastones available for sale in the Tourist shops around the Giralda or alternatively in Calle Adriano.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thank you all for your feedback, Gerald, thank you for your kind offer, I would be most grateful if you would advise the Hotel Simons position later as I am planning to fly out 26th September. I was hoping to get credentials from the hotel as well as stay there for my first night. I had read that they sold credentials with the Via de la Plata map on the back which would have been preferable to the ones from the forum store which I believe all have 'Frances' maps on the back.

A quick apology. I realise that my claim regarding the maps on the credentials sold on the forum is completely wrong. I can only blame my age on my failing memory. I bought my last credentials in SJPdP and naturally they have only the 'Frances' on the back. I shall order my credentials from the forum. Thanks Alex Walker for your guidance.

As far as I know nobody has Via credenciales. For the last which all you can get is a Frances one. These are accepted on the Via de la Plata, so it isn't a problem.

Because people have had problems finding credenciales in Seville in the last few months I think that if you can buy one before you travel then it's a good idea to do so.
