For those in the U.S., the REI Labor Day sale begins on Aug 24th. Worth noting that their zip-off pants will be on sale, along with various packs, tops, shorts, poles, etc.
When I saw the heading I wondered what you meant! ‘Gear’ can a slightly different meaning in Uk (tho it does mean clothes too!).

No, just alerting forum members in the US to some good deals on gear.
I have gotten a few really great deals in the outlet store on the REI website. Got a great REI backpack that our dear forum friend @davebugg said was a steal at $70 (half off). He was right. Have a warm and super light down jacket that I have worn on my last 4 caminos at 60% off ($55). The list goes on and on. I think some of their best deals are for things like socks, gloves, base layers and closeout trail runners. I buy the same ones so I know the sizing. Even when the "improve" them. The best part is you can return almost anything you buy, even if you have used it, for one year.
Thanks to asi.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Patagonia and Icebreaker have sales on now as well. Tis the season!

In cheaper options, I've stolen a couple of pairs of my partner's hiking pants as they are now too small for him and slightly big on me :D

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
