The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Each pilgrim develops his/her own favorites.
However for a good cultural/historical guide to the landscape, buildings, legends and events along the way many pilgrims use
"The Pilgrimage Road to Santiago" by David M Gitlitz and Linda Kay Davidson which is available on Amazon in both paperback and as an ebook.

Happy research and Buen camino to you both!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
My first Camino should start in July so I cannot speak from my experience.
But I have a link to this thread in my notes:
https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...urches-listed-for-you-in-walking-order.49457/

And so
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Saint_Mary_of_Eunate
should be a must-see for me, especially as I want to come from the Camino Aragones and it is even closer to this Camino than to the Camino Frances.

Buen camino!
Be aware that the church at Eunate is not always open. Occasionally the person in charge does post the days and times on this forum. Perhaps someone knows how to contact him.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
In Leon there is the gothic cathedral of course but during the camino I found a great appreciation for the romanesque period. The camino in Leon passes the Basilica of San Isidoro and attached to that is a museum that contains books and other objects of that period but there were two things that absolutely fascinated me, the 11th century Royal Pantheon and the chalice of Dona Urraca, one of the Holy Grails that Europe is so full of. The Royal Pantheon is sometimes called the "Sistine Chapel of Romanesque art" and a recent book documented the chalice.

Everyday had great places. But some highlights for me.

Pyrenees views on Day 1
Church at Zabaldika (Prior to Pamplona)
Alto del Perdon
Castrojeriz
The Meseta
David's refreshment stand prior to Astorga (hill route)
Foncebadon
Cruz de Fero
Molinaseca
O'Cebriero

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Esperanza House and Garlic Festival in Castro-Jeriz
Then you should visit the village of Las Pedroneras on Camino de Levante, self proclaimed as the garlic capitol of the world. And really when you are approaching you can smell the garlic for miles and miles. At least in summer heat ;)

Yeah, it's so individual... but my favorite area was the Pyrenees. I loved all those little Basque stone villages and the variety show of animals along the road. For the same reason, the walk up to O'Cebreiro was glorious... getting back into the mountains and the stone villages.
