If you are walking in Valencia or nearby Alboraya try a drink of healthy delicious "White Gold" as described by Vicky Smith in this article published on line by BBC earlier this year. The Tiger Nut based drink horchata dating from the 13th century has recently been successfully revived.

Some spots to sample this drink were also noted by VNwalking on the Forum in this earlier post.

I loved the stuff even in cans!

:)

Samarkand.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
In California, US, virtually every Mexican food restaurant has horchata and tamarindo. It will be a taste of home for me.
Mexican horchata is made of rice instead of tiger nuts.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Would you mind sharing your recipe?
There are a number of recipes on Youtube and I recommend they be reviewed. One will speak to you more than the rest.
I use tigernuts from a local healthfood store, one cup soaking in two cups of water for at least 24 hours but the longer the better. Strain out, place nuts in blender with two cups of fresh water and let the blender do its job. Place a strainer over a large bowl and line with cheesecloth. You know what to do.

From here, store in a jar and like all drinks, add what you will to the portion poured in a glass. Cinnamon, vanilla, and many other adds can be used, even tumeric.
