W are thinking of using this Agency to help with our trip . Has anyone else used them and can provide a reference or comment ?

Advance accommodations are usually arranged on the internet, so it doesn't really matter where you are located. Maybe it is easier to have someone else make them for you, but doing the research is half the fun. You can use booking.com or hotels.com.

There is no need to 'arrange' accommodation on the caminos except in some very exceptional circumstances. Any one of a number of booking sites will give you access to hotels if you do not wish to use non-reservable Albergue accommodation. Spend a bit of time on this forum and you will see how easy it is to walk 500k across northern Spain with nothing more than desire. The infrastructure on the Camino Frances is such that no pre-destination is required. You will find a bed, you will find a meal, you will find friends you didn't even guess you would.

You won't find much support in this forum for the use of tour groups. It's true that figuring out your own transportation and accommodation isn't that much of a challenge for those with the desire to spend the time doing so. If you've traveled abroad before that's a big help too, just from having the confidence about such planning. However, there are plenty of people for whom a big trip over to Spain to do a very long walk is enough of an adventure, and having the details planned out and all taken care of is desirable.

I don't have any direct experience with this company (I've actually not heard of them before today), but I've just looked at their Facebook and Instagram pages, their website, and read a few articles written about them. I see that they are partnered on one of their day-tours (non-Camino related) with a company that I myself have spoken with (and know to be reputable) while on a leisure non-Camino trip to Galicia last fall about a fishing excursion (Amare Turismo - we didn't end up going on the excursion just because of scheduling difficulties on our end). Their Gali Wonders blog and other social media pages are in English, so that is also a comforting factor, and their blog is extremely informative about Galicia in general (from a tourists perspective) and exactly what their self-guided tour provides. Their prices seem to be in line with similar self-guided tour companies (some cousins of ours did quite a bit of research on that topic and shared their findings with me).

Whatever way you decide to go, @Crinfret, the Camino is an amazing adventure and I wish you all the best for a very Buen Camino!!

As to the OP, @Crinfret, I would suggest that use of Gali Wonders depends on what your motivation is. Is it to make pilgrimage along the Camino Frances? If so, then you don't need them. If it is to explore Galicia, then their service looks like it might be useful.

You might find this on-line Galicia Guide in English helpful while you plan your journey. It discusses not only the camino in general but has many links to info regarding tourist hotels throughout Galicia.

I had a quick look at their website and it seems they only tours in Galicia, starting at ~100 Euro/night. A cheaper, and more flexible option, would be to use booking.com and reserve your own beds if you don't want to stay in albergues. Buen Camino, SY
